Description

The ‘American Beauty’ water lily is a stunning aquatic plant that adds a touch of elegance to any water garden. Add one to your pond for its exquisite reddish-pink blossoms, reminiscent of delicate roses. The center of each blossom is adorned with a vibrant lemon-chrome hue creates a captivating contrast against the petals.

Appearance

Star Flowers: Reddish pink blossoms with a lemon-chrome center that blossoms above the water's surface.
Stamens: Lemon-yellow.
Leaves: The large pads are bright green on top and brilliant red with green veins beneath. They are round with wavy margins.

Preferred Growing Conditions

6+ hrs/day direct sunlight.
Calm water away from the moving water of a cascade or waterfall.
Water Depth: 6"-12" deep. Start shallow to capture more sun and warmth . Then you can move it to a deeper part of your pond.
Prefers to be planted 3'-4' from surrounding plants for the spread.
New plants should be fertilized with higher nitrogen content to stimulate root growth. Then, higher phosphorous will be beneficial for the blooms.
Trim dead parts to encourage more growth.
