History

In historic writings this water lily was considered the "Iridescent Water Lily" with the glowing color shown as dusk approaches.
After introduction of the Frank Trelease water lily in 1900, the water lily could be found proudly displayed in the water garden pools of botanical establishments. This water lily is popular in century old photographs.
